Eek!! Wasp Nest!!

We found this outside our house.. in our "forest"... on our neem tree~!

This morning Jeannie & Jewel's human came over to our place together with mummy. While waiting for daddy to open the door, they saw a wasp flown in carrying a large green caterpillar. It was amazing how it managed to squeeze in the caterpillar into the nest through small holes and many caterpillars already inside. The nest was about 8cm long.

Isn't it look like an astronout?

I think this was a solitary wasp's nest.. because it built the nest from mud.

Aunty Joy said wasp is venomous stinger. Found this photo in wiki. Scary right?!

Initially daddy didn't want to destroy it. But after seeing the above photo, daddy immediately took umbrella and decided to remove it.

Can see the caterpillars wriggle??

Inside like full with caterpillar.. not even a single empty space

Big fat green caterpillar. At least they were about 5cm long.

Wow that's a big nest! We get wasps nests under the eaves and Daddy pokes em off with the handle of the rake.

Didn't know wasps hoard caterpillars (like I do! )
Those nests that I've destroyed are usually empty.
What did you do to those caterpillars?
