Wedding, Flowers and Colourful Saree
Fire is used to purifying. It's like holy water in church.
Oh, this was beautiful. Too bad my camera couldn't capture the bling-ness of the beads.
I can see with my own eyes how a woman transform after the make up. Gee.. they looks so much different, smooth complexion and more beautiful.
The wedding on Sunday was in a temple. So Pal insisted me to wear Indian clothing too. So, well.. no choice.. last minute rushed to little India to buy Punjabi suit (it's easier to wear). I don't really like the material (so uncomfy), but Pal said all like that.. it's expensive too around $80 and it doesn't fit me well. The wedding was in the morning 8.30am, too early for me *yawning*. We were rushing and I forgotten to bring the shawl. No.. I won't let you see me wearing Punjabi suit.. haha.. instead, here is the glimpse on what I wore =P
Nice decoration on the temple roof
I learned a lesson when throwing yellow rice at the wedding couple. "Don't stand in front!!" or else everybody behind will throw the rice on you. Pal got rice stucked on his head.
Newly Wed couple - look tired but happy =)
One thing I noticed, that's lots lots of flowers they used.
And of course the FOOD!! They served Vegetarian Dishes from Komala's restaurant. YUMMY!
Isn't this just look like fried chicken?! Actually this is fried Cauliflower.

Wow-wee Luna! Did you get to attend the wedding at the Indian temple! How cool is that? Psst...we wanna see you in your Punjabi suit!!! =)
This is very interesting, I had never seen a Hindu ceremony before. What is the significance of the bitter leaves?
Buster's Mom

WOW
This is a very very interesting post! We love such things. Eve went to India for 4 months a long long time ago and she often talks about the beautiful colours and art of that country. Maybe I can go oneday.
Fei

Just amazing pictures and the newlyweds look beautiful together:)
And the FOOD Luna!! yum yum:)
BIG hugs from Billy Boo:)
Luna,
The dog shelter was actually in a shop space . The interior was wooden so it looked nice and natural. Most dogs have foster parents I think so that shelter was just a showcase for the dogs and they get rotated for rehoming sessions.
Can you post your ma and pa's wedding photos too? Did they have a traditional Indian ceremony too?
We want to see!
Love
Fei
Mummy said no photo of her wearing that punjabi suit. Video have (daddy accidently use the video function instead of photo) but she immediately deleted it.. imagine, taking video of someone posing waiting for her photo to be taken.. ROFL
Buster, I also not sure what is the significance of bitter leaves. But so far I see, only old people are eating them. Have u try them?
Fei & E, my hoomans are not married yet. still waiting.. *tapping paws* you were in india for 4 months? wow.. that's nice. what did you do there?
Oh wow! What a bootiful, colorful traditional Indian wedding! Lovely! Whose wedding was it by the way? I like Indian food actually especially the fried chicken... yummy!

HAHA I understand. Eve does that sometimes. Trying to take a photo but ended up a video instead.
My Eve and Caz aren't married either. I think they should so this means that I will always get to see Caz and I love him. If Eve gets a new Caz, then I might not see him forever...
Will your mum and dad have a traditional wedding like this one? It would be heaps cool and you can be the ring bearer!
Eve did some research work for Uni when she was in India. She only did that for a month but travelled around the rest of the the time. She loves Kolkatta a lot and secretly wishes we can live there instead of Japan.

*imagines J & P in the lovely pics*
Beetle leaves are offered to the deity during Taamboolam, which is one of the 16 services (Shodasa Upacharas).
"Taamboolam - Offering beetle leaves with caustic and beetle nut.
Tamboolam consits of beetle leaves, beetle nut and caustic represent the three avasthas or states of the human being - jagrad, swapna and shushupti or waking, dreaming and sleeping states. Offering Tamboolam is the effort to go beyond these states - i.e. to the nirvikalpa state."
Eh, J, you must know, must know!
